Room Leader

Hi I’m Sian, I was born and raised in Hackney, London and have worked here since leaving sixth form, which is about 7 years now. I have always loved working in London as it is such a beautifully diverse area.

Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I grew up in a house where my mum was a childminder, so I always loved being able to help my mum when I was growing up and learning things from her. Seeing my mum’s passion for working with children transferred to me and when I started my apprenticeship at 18 years old, I knew I had found the right career.

Working with children is so rewarding, being able to see their progress after working on certain skills or knowledge with them is such an amazing thing.

When I am not working, I am a huge football fan; I am very happy to be working closer to the Emirates stadium as it will make travelling to any evening matches a little bit easier! I love supporting Arsenal, even though they can be very disappointing on some occasions!

I also love to cycle! Cycling is a very rewarding way to travel and exercise for me.

Qualifications, Skills &Experience:

• 7 Years’ experience in Childcare roles
• Level 3 in Children’s Workforce
• Experience as Room Leader and Designated Safeguarding Lead
