At MPH we put a big emphasis on Cultural Capital, exposing our children to different experiences to ensure they have the best possible start in life. Part of that includes getting involved in our local community, and with that in mind we organised a series of visits to our local pizzeria, ‘Il Guscio’.

In small groups, we took our Preschoolers, Toddlers, and even some of our older babies to enjoy some yummy pizza while also soaking in the Italian atmosphere which even included some classic Italian tunes. With the sun shining bright, for a little while it felt like we were in sunny Naples, enjoying a slice of Margarita -or two.

Our children took an active role on this outing, from having a look at the menus, to choosing their favourite style -Margarita? Prosciutto on top? Marinara perhaps?- to even asking for the bill and paying!

These outings were a great opportunity to talk about different cultures and preferences, and our little Italian speakers even got to share a few key words with their peers (like how to say ‘cheese’ or ‘tomato’ in Italian).

On top of everything else, it was lovely to see our children share a special dinner, sharing their own experiences (‘I always get this one, it’s my favourite’) and overall enjoy such a delicious meal.
