On the 22nd of September we raised money for Jeans for Genes which is the annual fundraising event for the genetic disorder community. All the children and staff had a great time some fun joining in some baking, doing some art and crafts as well as wearing jeans and white tops, to celebrate and provide awareness for the cause.

This year we have had a little competition between the rooms in which each room decorated a pair of jeans. They used to opportunity to express their creativity with paint, stickers, feathers and some extra shining materials sticked on the jeans. At the end of the day the parents voted for the “most creative” jeans by sticking a smile on them. All the children put on their cooking hats to bake different cookies and biscuits. Our preschoolers, toddlers and babies were involved on mixing all the ingredients and measuring quantities and following a recipe. We use every opportunity to keep learning!

Thank you for each of the donations, together we fundraised £161.60.

Our Inventors used their fine motor skills to make bracelets.

Our Discoverers decorated a pair of trousers using paint and feathers to raise money for the cause.

Explorers and Inventors put their chef hats on to make yummy cookies. They enjoyed the measuring and mixing all of the ingredients together.

Our Inventors went to the charity shop to get some jeans for the rooms to decorate.

Our Discoverers made some cookies. Each child explored the dough and used this to represent diversity.
