As you might know, here at Monkey Puzzle Highbury we don’t miss any opportunity to celebrate and enjoy different cultures and festivities across the world. During the last week of October, our children have engaged in many activities to create a spooky environment for our Halloween.

From trips to the local shop to find pumpkins or natural resources in the park, to sensory activities with colourful pasta or rice, our babies, toddlers and preschoolers joined in different activities such as stories, baking, dances, crafts and small world play to know more about this tradition.

We ended our celebrations with an amazing Halloween party where everyone walked into their costumes, even our chef joined the teams to create delicious cupcakes and a special “pumpkin soup”.

Happy Halloween!!

Our toddler room explored different essences and temperatures creating potions. Abracadabra!

They also baked a pumpkin pie traditional from the USA, and encouraged the children to show their creativity with many craft and arts activities.

We ended the day with a spooky Halloween party, moving our bones to the rhythm of the skeleton dance and decorating some cupcakes with our chef Elena.

Our little babies went to the local shop to find the best pumpkin to carve scary faces and explore the lights at night. They also did more sensory activities and crafts, being exposed to new smells, textures and sounds. They turned the room into a haunted house and also decorated Halloween cupcakes and enjoyed the delicious pumpkin-themed tea.

Last but not least, here are some of the “invitations to play” set by and for our older children in the preschool room. We challenged them to recreate their own spiders, explore different temperatures and think of a process to melt the ice. Our pre-schoolers also joined in food preparation like some “scary” tangerines for snack and along with the other rooms, they did some baking and prepared delicious spooky meals.
