Every child is unique, but one thing they all have in common is that they are always learning. With this in mind, we believe that it is critical to work with you to mould a child’s learning experiences to their needs, capabilities and learning style.
With the help of parents, we can get to know children faster and address their individual requirements more effectively at any given time. We also want the children’s learning experience as a whole to be as seamless and comprehensive as possible, so we love to chat with parents about what their children are learning at home, to build on this learning at the nursery. We also strongly encourage parents to get to know your child’s key person and ask them about your child’s day at the nursery, so that we can all work together to provide an exceptional and continuous educational experience for your child.

Key people
“Each child has their own key person to enable them to feel reassured, safe and cared for within our setting. This person also keeps a detailed Learning Journey of the child’s progress during their time with us. These records are available to be viewed and discussed at any time by parents, who are always encouraged to add details of their child’s experiences from outside the nursery. This enables us to identify with your child’s learning requirements to ensure the most stimulating activities and effective learning goals are in place for each individual child.”
We like to encourage you as parents to talk to your key person whenever you can, often this means during pick up and drop off times, but also during events like parent’s evenings and trips. If you have time for a chat, our practitioners and your child’s key person will always be happy to talk about your child’s time at home, or their weekend trip and their day at the nursery, so that we can build on what they saw, heard and experienced. A child’s life is filled with opportunities for learning and development, with your help, we can grasp as many of those opportunities as possible.
Learning Books
We use a piece of software called Learning Books to help record important moments in your child’s development. Learning Books is an ultra safe system that helps our practitioners in making regular high quality observations of the children to track their learning. These include photos, videos and descriptions of your child at play, with information about which learning objectives they are developing or achieving in the observation.
We also provide parents with a learning books login, which allows them to view all the observations made by our practitioners of their child. In our experience, parents absolutely love having the ability to watch how their children get on at the nursery via learning books. Another advantage is that if a parent or grandparent lives or works too far away from your child, then they can still learn a lot about them in their own time and use this as a basis to keep or develop their relationship with the child. With Learning Books, our parents and families can see just how high the quality of care is, how well their child is doing and also never miss out on those special milestones in a child’s life.

Newsletters
We all know how hard it is to keep on top of everything when you have a child in your life, so to help parent’s stay in the loop, we release monthly newsletters about what’s been going on at the nursery. These provide a room by room summary of the activities and themes we’ve been focusing on as well as offering information on important upcoming events at the nursery. We hope you all enjoy reading about all the fun we have and use the opportunity to ask your child about their time here!
